A bit of my story…
My career in communications began in the 5th grade when my environmental advocacy piece was published in a local newspaper. By the age of 12, through numerous debate sessions and essay writing, I’d found that I was interested in advocating on behalf of people who were not in a great position or sufficiently equipped to defend themselves. While I’d originally expected that this passion would lead me down the path of becoming a lawyer, I’ve been able to discover the power of advocating in the court of public opinion. Having solid communication strategies is essential to navigating crises and issues for any public figure, brand or business. No matter the industry or size of an organization, in the midst of a reputation battle, decisions and statements made can be ‘make or break.’
I started CONTROL because I believe that a foundational knowledge and understanding of crisis and reputation management best practices can make a major difference to whether a disaster manages to temporarily or permanently derail businesses, along with their partners, employees, and other stakeholders. I also wanted to be able to have an outlet to express my thoughts on engaging matters in the news.
In 2019, I received a graduate certification in Corporate Communication from Cornell, with courses including Crisis Communications Planning and Change Communication Planning. I received my undergraduate education in the UK, graduating in 2017 with a degree in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick. Since graduating, I’ve moved back to the U.S. and currently reside in Washington D.C. I enjoy kayaking, zip-lining and traveling to experience different cultures.
